If you have made either knitted or crocheted Knockers and don't know where to donate them, here are a couple suggestions:
1) Call the local cancer centers or area hospitals. You should be ready to explain (or do a show and tell) to them what knockers are (see earlier post). Don't give up if the first one says they aren't interested.
2) You can mail them to us (1415 E University Drive Ste A102, Tempe, Az 85281) and we'll find homes for them.
Knitted Knockers are prosthetic breasts for mastectomy patients. When placed in a bra, these knitted breasts take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are lighter and more comfortable than silicone prosthetic breasts. The knitted fabric breathes and prevents the heat rash experienced by many women wearing the silicone ones. We are now a 501 (c)(3) public charity.
